The new bike!
Posted in GeneralJust swapped a few bike bits and got myself a new bike! Said goodbye to a pompino and and old Peugeot and replaced it with a Condor Italia-X cyclo-cross bike.
Decided I loved the pompino but I wanted gears and this appeared on gumtree.com so thought I would just try my luck with both my old bike and the Pompino for a straight swap. It seemed to hit a note as the guy already owned a Bob Jackson and an Orange and liked Yorkshire frames and fixed / singlespeed.
Have I done the right thing?
I have got to admit I am not sure who got the better deal? He seemed happy with it all and I seem to have got a great bargain out of it? I am already missing the pompino though and its only been gone an hour?
Anyway only just got it and took it for a ride round the block. Big test will come tomorrow when I get a decent ride in.

Yes far too many gears for you. My pompino is being shipped down south.
My next project is a play bike more to your liking. Long travel single speed hardtail as think that would make a good bike for playing locally and at Stainburn as got to admit I liked the one gear.

Musing on how I could squeeze a decent cx bike into my life. Get rid of Pompino, convert ancient road bike to fixed, buy cx. I know I’d regret it though – the Pompino is the bike I ride most… The world is a cruel place

Yep just got a job in Leeds so my commute is now bikable again and the pompino would be perfect. Feels such a good bike to ride. I still “think?” I have made the right decision however will be keeping an eye on the disk brake version that is on its way.
So many bikes so little shed space eh?
