The other option would be to join a running club, who will undoubtably have some members who run in the hills.

Cheers Phil, Still early days on the blog and I need to do a lot of work on the design and content but it is getting there.

Easiest way to get started is just to jump right in! I have only been doing these things for probably 18 - 20 months in total now and find them great fun. Any help or advice you want from my (limited) experience then just let me know and I will try to help. Also check out www.sleepmonsters.co.uk for adventure racing and www.fellrunner.org.uk for fell running.

p.s keep those comments coming!!!

Hi i really like your blog. I had a good browse through it when i was at work this afternoon. I got here through Google looking for a lightweight kit list. Ive been thinking about trying out some adventure racing or Fell running. I had no idea where to start but you have given me plenty of ideas.

Great stuff and i will be back for more.

Cheers!

i find that sometimes even when events don't get canceled and i complete them to above my expectations i can feel quiet 'flat' for a few weeks after. usually i'm on high after running/biking but i haven't worked out why the opposite can happen.
i'm looking forward to hearing your 2009 plans. get something new to focus on!
